It's Hard; It's complicated

It’s hard. It’s complicated. I don’t have enough time. *

There is often a truth in these things.

Often just enough to allow us to protect ourselves but they aren’t enough to convince a judge or even ourselves really.

Not under scrutiny.

They aren’t excuses, that implies a conscious self deception.

They are a cognitive bias.

A self protection mechanism of a brain that isn’t interested in growth.

It’s invested in keep you the same. The same means alive.

Ultimately they* are meaningless and so better used as indictors.

It’s hard. Ok, what would it look like if it was easy?

It’s complicated. Ok, what would it look like if it were simple?

I don’t have enough time. Ok, what’s the minimum effective dose to move you away from where you are now?

If you’re still stuck then it’s likely that what you really mean is, I don’t like it or even, I hate it.

That’s fine too.

What would make it more fun?
