On Grief
It’s most acute and most obvious when we lose someone we love.
It’s also when we learn that the love was within us all along.
The love doesn’t go away because they do.
There are in truth only 2 negative emotions,
Fear and grief
The others are just spin offs
What we fail to realise is that grief doesn’t just comes with death.
We grieve the loss of imagined futures
We grieve the loss of things we loved doing in the past that we perhaps don’t feel like we have the right to do today.
We say,
“I should be seen to be at the office”
“I too busy to...”
“I’m too old to...”
When it’s more likely that it’s the very thing that would make life more fun and fulfilling.
I’ll leave you with this, what do you miss?
