When Do We Quit

Some things we should quit of course and fast.

When we realise it is not producing the experience or the outcome we desire then quitting is worth it.

Quitting because of “threat” though happens for just three possible reasons:

We are acting too fast,

We are acting too slow,

We are acting with unclear intent.

The first is the most seductive so the one we are talking about today.

If we move fast everything with change rapidly.

We will be living a completely different experience of life in little time at all.

We often feel compelled to move fast because we’ve had a small gap appear in the work.

The space has opened and we now have a chance to fit in the new person we are going to be or the new exercise habit or what ever the change might be.

Moving too fast is often evidenced by having spent years working on the same goal.

Fitness, fat lost, being calm with the kids, not using the phone at home.

But when we give ourselves permission to slow down.

To make one small nudge,

that nudge creates change,

that change creates confidence,

that confidence creates a habit,

that habit makes room for another nudge,

Slow is more often much faster than fast.
