Schools Were Created to make Factory Workers

I’ve had this paranoia for years.

The thing about paranoia is that you only realise it’s  presence when to resist against its command.

Until then you believe that you are running the behaviour.

It’s only when you try to stop that you discover that the belief is running you.

The paranoia I’m talking about is the one of 9-5 although it’s deeper than that.

It’s the idea of always being at work or working being both what I should be doing (modelling) and what is best.

Schools were originally created to turn people into factory workers who would check in and check out to a Pavlovian degree and it worked on me.

Stepping outside of that has required not just the logical explanation but a new Pavlovian training.

I have had to note (literally) the growth of my business and the trigger for it.

And every single time it has come back to,

The words that I say
The words that I write

And the clarity I have around them.  And clarity requires adventure, exploration, learning, great conversations, time spend writing, contemplating and reflecting, looking after my health, connecting with my family and making sure the home runs smoothly.

And when I do that, my clarity leads to growth and opportunities way beyond those that appeared when I worked 80 hours a week.
